Municipal Agency

Diagnostics – The Mayor had charged the agency with filing 150 nuisance abatement lawsuits per week.

Calibration – The agency was currently filing 40 nuisance abatement lawsuits per week. The agency had a limited number of attorneys and staff and a limited budget. The Agency did not have workflows or automation tools to assist with the work.

Optimization – We partnered with the agency to create and implement a customized managed service solution that involved people, process, and technology improvements.

Ignition – Implementing the solution increased throughput of file processing by 275% in just 60 days.

Drive – The agency continues to use the solution today, which from 2014-2017 has resulted in over 6000 nuisance abatement lawsuits being filed by the agency.

DESIGNED A PROCESS IN JUST 10 DAYS TO VET CLAIMS
AND FILE LAWSUITS:
Law Firm

Diagnostics – A small law firm was up against a statute of limitations deadline to file nearly 500 property-related legal complaints in District and Circuit Courts.

Calibration – The law firm had only 3 attorneys, limited staff, and no workflow or technology solutions to assist with the work. The upcoming statute of limitations deadline did not allow the law firm to hire additional attorneys or to vet and implement technology solutions to help with the work.

Optimization – We partnered with the law firm to create and implement a customized managed service solution that involved people, process, and technology improvements. We first divided the lawsuits into tranches based on deadlines and designed a process in just 10 days to rapidly vet claims and file lawsuits.

Ignition – As a result of our solution, the client was able to meet the legal filing deadline, filing nearly 500 property-related legal complaints in District and Circuit Courts.

Drive – The client was extremely satisfied with the speed and quality of our solution and the judge on the cases was complimentary of our work product.

CLEARED BACKLOG OF AGREEMENTS AND SPED UP REVIEW PROCESS FOR FUTURE ONES: Federal Research Facility

Diagnostics – A federal government research facility had a backlog of cooperative research and development agreements in legal review that was preventing the related research projects from moving forward.

Calibration – Our attorneys and lean consultants assessed the agreement process and found that there was no consistent workflow or standards for drafting, review, and approval of these agreements, which resulted in each agreement taking several months to finalize and inconsistencies in the agreements.

Optimization – We created a workflow and developed a checklist of key elements required for review and approval and made recommendations to expedite drafting and approval.

Ignition – As a result of our solution, the client was able to clear its backlog of agreements and to speed up the review process for future agreements.

Drive – The new research and development agreement process is standardized, faster, and less intimidating for potential non-federal science and technology partners.

DOCUMENT REVISION RATE REDUCTIONS OF UP TO 75%

LARGE LAW FIRM

Diagnostics – A large law firm was looking for operational improvement opportunities to free up attorney time.

Calibration – The law firm attorneys spend a significant number of hours/week reviewing and approving legal documents. Many of the documents they reviewed required changes (revision rates for some documents were in excess of 60%) which resulted in manual corrections and additional rounds of document review.

Optimization – We partnered with the law firm to analyze the process and identify the root cause of document revisions.

Ignition – As a result of implementing the process improvements, document revision rate reductions of up to 75% were realized, thus freeing up attorney time to work on value added legal services.

Drive – We continue to work with the law firm to continuously reduce the revision rates of legal documents.

Diagnostics – A turnaround and restructuring firm needed information extracted and summarized from hundreds of retail lease agreements in a cost-effective manner on a tight deadline.

Calibration – The firm did not have the capability to perform this activity in house.

Optimization – We worked with the firm to identify and define the information needed and to create a managed service to extract and summarize the required information.

Ignition – As a result, the firm was able to provide the information needed in a cost-effective manner by the required deadline.
